چکیده

To counteract the negative publicity derived from environmental impacts and avoid.potential “greenwashing” accusations, hotels resort to third-party entities certify their commitment environment. The objective of this study is analyze effect certifications on hotels’ market value. fill gap in literature, empirical detects all announcements awards ever made by major publicly traded United States. findings show that certification has a positive value (reducing effects alluded publicity); higher for first-time awards; and.that U-shaped exists subsequent awards. Managerial implications for.hotels’ engagement are described. • Environmental certification’s A Hotel size year announcement influential variables.
